Organic FeFETs for Neuromorphic Computing via Novel Solution-Processed Ferroelectrics

Nanoelectronics & Device Physics Lab, NISER Bhubaneswar · Advisor: Prof. Satyaprasad P. Senanayak

device stack: Si / SiO₂ / Solution Ferroelectric (BF₄⁻, Fe(CN)₆³⁻, PF₆⁻) / PBTTT / Au

Investigated structure–property correlations and polarization dynamics in organic ferroelectric field-effect transistors for in-memory computing. Synthesized and formulated solution-processable ferroelectrics with varied counter-anions to systematically tune gate dipole kinetics and dielectric relaxation. Conducted end-to-end device fabrication via spin-coating and thermal evaporation inside an inert nitrogen glovebox, followed by synaptic weight modulation (potentiation/depression), retention, and endurance characterization.

Process Optimization & Metrology for β-Ga₂O₃ Solar-Blind UV Photodetectors

Semiconductor Device R&D Lab, IIT Delhi · Advisor: Prof. Rajendra Singh

key metric: UV-to-visible rejection ratio (SNR) = 4.3 × 10⁴ | Automated >10k points

Fabricated and characterized deep-ultraviolet solar-blind Schottky photodetectors based on wide-bandgap β-Ga₂O₃ thin films. Systematically optimized thin-film deposition and interface conditioning to minimize trap-assisted dark current, yielding an ultra-high photo-to-dark current contrast. Characterized film morphology, orientation, and phonon dynamics via Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM), X-ray Diffraction (XRD), and micro-Raman spectroscopy. Engineered a custom NI-LabVIEW test suite to automate multi-bias spectral responsivity logging.

Surface Engineering & Co-Solvent Tuning for PEDOT:PSS / Silicon Hybrid Solar Cells

Photovoltaic Process R&D Group, CSIR-NPL New Delhi · Advisor: Prof. Sanjay K. Srivastava

optics & transport: KOH/IPA pyramid texturing + Ethylene Glycol & DMSO co-solvents (>20% boost)

Optimized optical harvesting and carrier extraction in hybrid organic/silicon solar cells. Engineered wet-chemical anisotropic KOH/IPA etching on Si (100) to form uniform pyramidal light-trapping textures, slashing front-surface reflectance from above 35% to below 9%. Formulated mixed co-solvent ratios (EG and DMSO) in PEDOT:PSS to induce polymer chain rearrangement, enhancing electrical conductivity and boosting device efficiency by over 20%.
